The Sacraments
The sacraments are sacred encounters with God, offering grace and strength through Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders. Each sacrament deepens our faith and unites us with Christ and His Church.
Baptism
Parents wishing to have a child baptized are required to be reigstered as members of the parish and have a preparation class with Fr. Ron Lorilla. To schedule an appointment please call the parish office at 618-483-5346 or email Fr. Ron at rlorilla@dio.org
Penance
Confession is available at the following times: Saturdays: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at St. Clare Church, Altamont 3rd Saturday: 4:45 - 5:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s, St. Elmo 1st Sunday: 7:00 - 7:45 a.m. at St. Anne’s, Edgewood The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available anytime by appointment.
Confirmation
Confirmation takes place once each year for 3rd graders. In order to be confirmed, students must participate for at least one year of preparation through our PSR classes.
First Communion
First Holy Eucharist takes place once each year for 3rd graders. In order to be confirmed, students must participate for at least one year of preparation through our PSR classes.
Holy Matrimony
Couples wishing to be married in the Church are to contact Fr. Ron at least six (6) months prior to the proposed wedding date. Please contact the parish office for more information at 618-483-5346.
Anointing of the Sick

Holy Orders
Sacrament of Holy Orders is a call to serve Christ and His Church as deacons, priests, or bishops. Through this sacred vocation, men dedicate their lives to ministry, proclaiming the Gospel, administering the sacraments, and guiding the faithful. If you feel called to explore this vocation, we encourage you to pray, discern, and reach out to the parish office or the Diocese of Springfield for guidance and support.
